Get Away with Getaway

Our little getaway with Getaway House was the most serene escape from reality yet!

Our tiny slice of serenity is at their Blake Brook post, located in Epsom, New Hampshire, just a 2.5hr drive from Hartford. We love long drives so we opted for this post, but Getaway House has posts across the country, many of them being within a quick road trip distance from CT. They even recently added a post in Moosup, CT, for those of you who’d rather stay local. Prices vary by days, length of stay & location (so if prices are too high, check other posts for your dates).

The cabins are more like the cutest little trailers, but they’re perfectly equipped with all the basic essentials. They are really efficient at utilizing minimal space while keeping a spacious, beautifully aesthetic vibe. The bathroom & shower were squeaky clean & had plumbing (which our last tiny home didn’t have) (such a relief!). The kitchenette area had a 2-burner stove with a coffee/tea pot, cutlery, pots/pans, dishes, a sink with a filtered faucet… chileee, they even had a corkscrew on deck for us! Outside we had our own fire pit w/grill, seating & a picnic table. They also provided wood & fire-starters for an extra fee, but you can bring your own.

The staff were hospitable & accessible by phone/text at all times. Each post has a staff center where you can go in case of ER or for guest services & staff are great at accommodating any needs. Each cabin is named after a grandparent of the Getaway team members, which gives it a sweet personal touch. Ours was named Theodore ❤️. We were welcomed with a personalized, hand-written note & a s’mores kit.

Overall 10/10 experience & I’d highly recommend you all plan a trip with your boos, best friends or even for a solo adventure if you dare. They even have cabins with bunk beds for family trips, but I wouldn’t recommend more than 2 ppl in a single bed house & 4-5 in a family house. You can book easily on their website. Go, getaway! 🫶🏽
